Design ideas (color) for living room with black leather couches?

Not sure how handy you are. Slate tile which sells for less than 2.00 per foot , on sale 1.25 is easy to put on walls and looks very cool, when sealed with a wet look sealer. Do it on one accent wall and the room will come alive. Could even go on existing plaster saving you a lot of work
