Is it weird for a Chinese guy to convert to Muslim and be with a Middle Eastern girl?

So I'm kind of dating this GORGEOUS Lebanese girl, not really dating because I'm not a Muslim. To take things further she says I have to convert to Islam. I plan to go to a mosque this Friday and learn more about Islam, is this really weird? The people I know only go to church.
