Snowboard waxing/oxidation?

i bought a burton hero last year and finally used it this season 2 times. the 1st time i used it with just the factory wax on and the 2nd time i got it waxed but i think i got ripped off cause it only took the guy like 10 seconds to wax it and he charged me 10 bucks. but anyway i think my base is oxidized cause theres alot of white spots on the base and it looks very dryed out even though it was just waxed. im not really sure what oxidized is but i just know my base is very white and dry looking and it doesnt feel very fast on the snow. what should i do?
