Is it tender to touch? The warmth suggests there is some a inflammation going on so it might be a mild injury to one of the interphalangeal joints. I'm a chiropractor and I've seen things like this from time to time, try stretching it gently with your hand and icing it for about 15 minutes every 4 or 5 hours (with an ice pack, or a bag of frozen pies wrapped inside a tissue to avoid burns).
