Critcism on my book's idea?

It sounds absolutely BRILLIANT!!! except that you could cut out some of the emo stuff and make the boy a bit stronger and make him bare his pain and stuff... and then collapse at some point. that way it will make this OMG impression. It could happen so that the girl sees the sketchbook and talks about it to him.
